Located just 30 minutes from Adelaide, the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary is a haven for marine life and a spectacular place to kayak. This tour combines essential kayaking skills training with a guided eco-tour through the sanctuary’s stunning mangrove-lined waterways and historic Ships’ Graveyard. It's an engaging and educational day designed for all levels of paddlers.
Led by qualified guides, you’ll not only gain confidence in your kayaking abilities but also learn about the incredible ecosystem that supports Port River’s resident bottlenose dolphins, migratory birds, and diverse marine plants and animals. Transport from Adelaide CBD is included, making this the perfect nature-based day trip.

Requirements

- This tour is beginner friendly, a moderate level of fitness is required for paddling
- Minimum tour numbers apply for guaranteed departure – participants will be contacted in advance if minimum numbers are not met

Pick-up Information
Pick-up location: Adelaide CBD (exact meeting point provided upon booking). Please arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure time. Return to Adelaide CBD after the tour is complete.

Important Information
- This tour is weather dependent – in the case of unsafe weather conditions, alternative dates or full refunds will be offered
- Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and refillable water bottles are strongly recommended
- Participants must wear enclosed shoes that can get wet (e.g., old runners or water shoes)
- All equipment and safety gear are provided
- Wildlife sightings (including dolphins) cannot be guaranteed
- This is a low-impact, eco-friendly tour. We follow Leave No Trace principles and ask all participants to respect the natural environment

Kayak Tour Terms & Conditions: Unaccompanied Children (Ages 8–17)
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, the following terms and conditions apply to children aged 8–17 years attending a kayak tour without a parent or guardian present.

1. Age and Supervision Requirements
• Children aged 8–12 years must paddle in a double kayak with someone aged 13 or older.
• Children must be capable of following instructions and participating safely in a group environment.
• Solo kayaking is not permitted for participants under 13 years of age.

2. Drop-Off and Pick-Up Requirements
• Parents/Guardians are required to attend drop-off and pick-up in person, especially when their child is travelling via bus.
• If unable to attend pickup, the Parent/Guardian must notify Earth Adventure in advance with the full name and relationship of the authorised adult collecting the child.
• The bus will pull up at The Adelaide Convention Centre Parents/Guardians must meet the bus at the designated location.

3. Behaviour and Safety
• Participants must follow all safety instructions and behave respectfully toward staff, fellow participants, and the environment.
• If a participant is found to be acting unsafely, inappropriately, or disrupting the activity, they will be removed from the program and a parent or guardian must collect them immediately.
• No refunds will be provided for removal due to behaviour.

4. Conditions of Service
a) Parents/Guardians will ensure Earth Adventure (WEOA) and/or contractors are reimbursed for any damages to equipment or facilities caused by wilful actions of participants.
b) All participants must follow rules and instructions given by Earth Adventure staff and any external providers.
c) Parents/Guardians must inform Earth Adventure of any participants with special needs or known behavioural concerns.
d) Parents/Guardians support Earth Adventure in implementing behaviour management strategies, including removal from the program if a participant poses a safety risk.
e) Where additional support or supervision is required, Parents/Guardians must assist in arranging this.
f) All personal and medical information provided to Earth Adventure will be stored in accordance with Australian Privacy Legislation and retained for a minimum of 7 years.
g) Activities and/or locations may be adjusted during the program due to weather, safety, or logistics. Alternate activities will be of similar nature and suitable for participants’ age and ability.
h) Scheduled times include travel time and safety briefings. Activity durations may vary depending on the distance from pick-up points and required preparation.
i) Activities are staffed for maximum participation, however in some cases turn-taking may be impacted by the confidence or ability levels of the group.

5. Acceptance
By confirming your child’s place on the tour, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions and accept responsibility for ensuring your child complies with all requirements.
